Otherworlds board members-only now

After having removed manually more than 100 spam messages (which cost me two hours from my only half-free afternoon this week!) I regretfully reset all forums on the Otherworlds board to members-only. I'm sorry to pevent guests from participating, but my barely existent free time is too precious to me than to waste it on idiot spammers.

Another medium that should have served communication and discussion shut down because of idiots. Idiots subjugate our world on every level.

Somehow, it's depressing.

Not much's really going on these days, except me posting my own stuff. But it was really annoying, time-consumming and maddening. Such people should be hung upside down above a bonfire. *tries to quench bloodthirsty mood*

If one steals my money, it's bad enough, but money can be replaced - well, sometimes. But if they steal my time, it's an irreversible loss, and it's something I don't have aplenty to begin with. (Not that the same wouldn't be true for money, sadly...)

I totally agree, hon, believe me! You have no idea just how much I agree! Actual free time that a person can use an true leisure in this day and age is worth the count of its nanoseconds being weighed in gold!

A belated, but heartfelt "Hear! Hear!" I get really annoyed with the electronic spam I must delete and with the paper junkmail I must take to the office to shred because it has my damned personal info on it. Grrr....

The Otherworlds board has been hit hard lately. I had to delete and ban two idiots within the week (or more likely the same idiot under different names, using different PCs) who posted the exactly same disgusting porn pictures.

It's particularly annoying, as it's a PG-13 limited board, and it could be deleted because of the idiotic spammers.

It's not possible to put one of those 'prove you're not a machine' thingies on it? though they're rather annoying, too, at least it lets you access a site.

Well, those who are really interested in discussing the topics over there can always register - membership isn't restricted (yet). Although there are some who register on boards, just to be able to spam them. But there's always the chance to ban their IPs, usernames and e-mail addresses.

I just mourn for my 2.5 hours wasted on such things.
