Warning: there will be boooring stuff behind the tag!

We went to the cemetery yesterday, to wrap the headstone of my grandparents into paper and plastic, so that it wouldn't be damaged by eventual frost in winter. The weather was surprisingly beautiful for the season, so that I actually enjoyed the trip, which I rarely do.

After coming home, I cooked that cauliflower we brought with melted butter, roasted bedcrumbs and hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese cut into very small pieces. It was really good. Actually, it's an asparagus recipe, but worked surprisingly well with cauliflower, too. We had some buttermilk to it - it was great!

Today, it was cleaning again. I hate housework like the plague, but it doesn't do itself, and I can't leave everything to Mum. It's a good thing that she actually likes to do the washing-up - and just how perverted is that? - so I'm saved from paving around in dirty water. Thank God for small blessings.

Now, cooking is something I enjoy - assumed it goes fast and doesn't produce many dirty dishes. Today, I cooked poultry with a sour sauce (sauce courtesy of Knorr, delivered in a paper bag, hehehe), with buttered noodles. Not so healthy as yesterday, but every bit as yummy.

Also, I finished and posted to the usual places Part 23 of "The Web of Darkness". I really hope to produce at least one more part during autumn break - which would be this week. It's the big courtroom chapter, so it shouldn't be so hard to write. At this speed, I might actually finish till Xmas for dear [livejournal.com profile] jastaelf - instead of her birthday when it should have been finished.

Finally got to watch "The Covenant" today. It wasn't directly bad, but not very good, either. Wasted money, if you ask me, but at least I bought it on sale. Currently, I'm working up myself to watch "Blood and Chocolate". Perhaps tomorrow. Although Mum's going to work tomorrow, so perhaps I'll use the day to do some quality writing - creative work is always done better without distractions.

I hope that "Beowulf and Grendel", which dear [livejournal.com profile] disthrainsdotte sent me, will arrive during autumn break. I want to watch it in peace. Now I'll have three different versions of a Beowulf story: the one mentioned above, then the wonderfully anachronistic, trashy one with Christopher Lambert, which I usually watch in French, with Hungarian subtitles, and that godawful computer-generated abomination featuring Ray Winstone, who very obviously can't act (or just can't play Beowulf, I don't know as I never saw him in anything else and never will if I can avoid) and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's mother. The only interesting character is the dragon. Too bad it had to die.

I'll try to finish the next part of "The Toreador Chronicles" as well. The chapter is half-written and all planned out. All I need to do is to put my lazy butt down and actually write it. [livejournal.com profile] stormcrystal will be happy with the LJ version, as it will contain hot, steamy Alain/Michael smut, which I can't post to FF.Net, of course.

No cooking planned for tomorrow. I might bake some muffins, though. Endorphines - especially chocolate-induced ones - are good for creativity.

Oh, and German TV began to show "Blood Ties" yesterday. I'm glad as I've missed the first half of it on Hungarian TV. I quite like the series, although to believe that any man, living or undead, would fall for the female lead is a bit hard to believe. Well, at least the vampire is sexy.
