Go figure. I've managed to finish the story in just seven chapters. Only the first three are posted so far. Part four is by Larner, my wonderful beta, the rest needs to be typed up yet. Will do so when I'm back from Vienna. God, it will be good to be off, if only for two days.

Good news indeed and I am looking forward to the remaining chapters. I guess both Camellia and Lobelia are almost breathing fire.

They do, although the focus switches from them to other characters, kinda. You'll love the new chapters, as various Dwarves from Thorin's company are making an appearance.

Another reason to look forward to them. Hmmm, I wonder what I would have said to Camellia and Lobelia had I met them. *thinks hard*

Don't forget to tell me, if you come up with any good thoughts! I'll use it in some another Hobbit story, and, of course, give you proper credit for them. ;o))

Chapters will be posted to [livejournal.com profile] edhellondawards for your reading pleasure. I know you prefer to read on LJ, because it's interactive. I'll start typing up stuff tomorrow, promise!

So glad you could finish you story, and I do hope that you can use the time in Vienna to decompress. I actually liked that city a great deal back in the day.

Vienna is wonderful. Just being in that city puts my mind to ease. We had fun. I'll post a short report tomorrow, about our time and about the indecent amount of money spent and so on. *g*

Oh great - I'm looking forward to reading more about Bilbo's unexpected homecoming. :-)

Are you going to go out sightseeing a lot in Wien or just relax and spoil yourself with Torte mit Schlagsahne und so weiter?

Thinking of cakes led to thinking of desserts: I think my favourite food in Milano was tiramisu - yummy!

I've written four parts in as many days, which is, I think, a record for me. Will try to put up the next chapter tomorrow, I hope I'll manage.

No, no sightseeing this time - two days are really not enough for any cultural programmes, and besides, we go to Vienna twice or three times a year as a rule (it only takes three hours by train from here), so we know all the things that are easily found. We do the cultural thing in these days when our friends are at home and take us to more... hidden places by car. As they were in Turkey right now, we just relaxed.

But we had "echte Wiener Sacher Torte", so it was great. Do you speak German as well?

Oh, you're already back! Good to hear you had a nice, relaxing time. :-)

Yes, I speak German, too (but write it better than I speak it). As a matter of fact, hubby has relatives in Austria, but for some reason we've never visited. They tell me Wien is lovely and it seems you agree?

(I know my avvies are hopelessly amateurish and nerdy, but just wanted to let you know that the one I use now, 'May', signifies hope: it's meant to signify better times will come).

Yeah, we only went for two days. Autumn break is so short, and I've got so much to do (like typing up the finished Elf-root story, for starters) that we didn't want to spend more days on travelling.

You should visit Vienna, you truly should. It's wonderful. You know what, you should visit in summer, when I have no school, and I'll get over and meet you. I know a café where the ice-cream is to die for, and other such little pleasures, aside from the sights that are more than worth seeing.

I like your avvies. You're still better than I am. I can't even put one together. Aside from the teddy bear, all the others are gifts, or borrowed with the original maker's permission.

It is, isn't it? I got the original pic from a student of mine, and for some reason it was the only one with which the icon wizard worked for me.
