Well, the Mum-related news seem to be better.

She went to that ultrasound thingie today, and they found nothing worrysome with her liver... nothing that could be seen that way. So, perhaps it was a bug, after all, or a very mild case of hepatitis that passed unnoticed. She'll have to go back to the other doctor, of course, and to her neurologist who wanted the examination in the first place, plus she'll have to have other blood test, soon, but we're more hopeful again. I'm... well, the right expression would be "tentatively relieved", I guess.

School's being exhausting, as always. Or perhaps I'm getting older. I don't really know. But I'm so tired all the time it's not even funny. Now that the last bout of depressions seems to be over - at least temporarily - I guess I've probably just collapsed like a punctured balloon. That and the lack of proper sleep. *g*

Writing-wise, I've deflated a bit after the frantic activity recently. The only thing I wrote last week was a chapter of my Dwarf-fic "The Book of Mazarbul". It's a later chapter, written out of order, so I only posted it to Axe&Bow for, well, testing the waters. So far, it got no reaction. Either the list is dead, or it's the lack of Legolas/Gimli slash. Ah, well. Got a very nice private comment from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] disthrainsdotte. We Pervy Dwarf-fanciers need to held together against the rest of the world, eh?

I wish by God I could finish "Elf-root" and "Web of Darkness", soon. As much as I love both stories, I'd like to move on. Both need a couple of more chapters, though, and while I have a solid idea how they will have to end, actually sitting down and write those chapters would require more energy and willpower than I currently call my own. So, instead of finish them, I've started a new story - like always. Gah, I'm such a stupid cow!

There was something else, but it's very late, I'm drained and will have to clean the stupid flat again in the morning. So, off to the land of Morpheus, before I pass out over my laptop.

Online from business laptop in a hotel on the other side of the country, so I'll just say that I'm relieved to hear what does sound like good news about your Mum. (And enjoy the Preciousssess. I'll keep an eye out for more.)

You are definitely spoiling me, my friend. It's not a wise thing to do - I might get used to it. ;))

Enjoying Precioussesss, aye, Ma'am! Enjoying relatively good Mum news even more. Hoping that everything will turn out well.

That's a relief about the ultrasound - I'm glad to hear it.

I'm sorry about your tiredness, though. It's hard, when it just seems to go on and on. I hope that the weekend will give you some respite.

Well, I survived the flat-cleaning campaign relatively intact, and considering that my boss isn't in next week, it will be a truly relaxing time for us all. *g*

*hug* I'm relieved the ultrasound turned out good. Hoping now that it's really just a bug. Anyway, no news are good news in the case of ultrasound, so I'm right there with you in being tentativey relieved,

Thanks. :) It had been a tough three weeks, waiting for the results of this examination and that blood test and so on. I really hope it wasn't anything serious.

It's good to hear that the ultrasound showed nothing worrisome.

And I'm so glad you're feeling better yourself. :-)

I hope it keeps that way. Mum and I have plans for the year that lies before us, and we'd like to keep them.

Glad the mum-news is good. Health issues are always stressful, and you've got plenty of that in your life already!

It was good to read your mom's ultrasound results turned out positive!

As for being exhausted: experience tells me that it does tend to set in earlier when you're older, alas. Getting enough sleep is very important, but once inspiration strikes, sleep is not always easy to get...

Very true, on both parts. Tell me, are you still writing? Or have you given up on it entirely? Or just given up on fanfic?

I miss you around. Never found anyone else with whom I could have discussed Tolkien-related stuff quite as well as with you.

No, alas, I'm not writing anything at the moment - the last thing I wrote was an AU Harry Potter fanfic as Maglor's finch, about a year ago. Real Life eats my time - I've been very busy since December last year - and also most of my energy. Once my daily translation chores are done, I just can't bring myself to do anything creative. Reading, watching Star Trek DS9 DVDs and doing sudoku's goes well, but that's about it. I even lack the drive to fantasize, let alone write anything. *sigh* Hopefully it will pass...

Let's hope so. Although watching DS9 is not a bad thing in itself.

Why do I hit the button when I'm not done? Anyway, the inspiration I was referring to in my previous comment, was yours, not my own.

Thanks. I will. She had another blood test two days ago, and her liver functions are getting steadily better. I tentatively hope that we're over this particular crisis for the time being and that her medication doesn't need to be changed, after all.

So do I. It's annoying to be so exhausted all the time. I used to be an energetic person in my younger years. And, to my shame, I must admit that Granny was more energetic at the age of 95 than I am now.

I am sure you will be able to get back the energy. I think taking walks is a good way to start.
