Still alive

wiseheartI can't believe I've been absent from LJ for almost a week! Well, I've read the posts on my friendslist, but was too hectic to post anything. Not that much would have happened, though...
I've written two chapters for "The Web of Darkness" last week, and made the changes suggested by the most generous Larner who took upon her the burden of beta-ing the story. I've originally intended to concentrate on that story for a while, so that I could finish it in a couple of more chapters, but some obnoxious reviewers took all the joy of it for me, so I've put the story on the back burner again. At the moment, I can't even look at it.
I pulled out of the mothballs the already translated parts of "The Child", the next installment of the "Lost Years" series, and began to type them up. That, too, has to be done. It won't be a very popular story, as it's something I worte at least fifteen years ago or so, and the translation does give it a certain... strange quality, as always. But since I can't find a beta reader for it - the only one who showed vague interest from 200+ Memory Alpha members went into hiding - it will have to do the way it is.
I've begun to work on "Adventures", a series of loosely connected short stories that are supposed to show certain events from Stargate SG-1's 6th and 7th season from Kavanagh's POV, just to entertain myself. I also consider continuing "Retributions", the Kavanagh/Caldwell story, but I'm in a bit of a block with that one.
I'm slowly losing all joy in writing. If one has to fear some rude reaction with every new posted chapter, it's just not worth the effort.
In other news, we had our Easter concert yesterday. It was beautiful. I've let them talk me into doing this last stunt with them, and I'm glad I have. We sang wondrous pieces, written by Händel, Lasso, Back, Pitoni, etc. It was a worthy last act.
