For exactly three workdays, because the rest of it is weekend, Easter and related holidays. But no school for the next six days, which is a blessing.

I'm off to Vienna tomorrow - God, sounds that wonderful! - but I'll be back on Friday again, unless I decide to join the great LJ strike. I don't know yet. Too exhausted to make any decisions. It also depends on whether I got any shiny new DVD'S in Vienna, 'cuz in that case long TV sessions will be on the programme.

I'll also have to make my famous Easter ham with cumin (and remember not to rub it with pepper instead like last year, hah!), and colour the Easter eggs, and my private student will also be coming, so perhaps I'll stay away from LJ for very different reasons. Will have to finish the next chapter of "Web of Darkness", too, and type it up.

Had to remove another rude anonymous review on FF.Net. Some idiots that roam that site are truly unbelievable. But if I disable anonymous reviews, they'll leave a signed piece of horseshit, and that I won't even be able to remove. This is still the smaller evil, I think.

Not that the opinion of some dunderhead who can't understand that just because I like to write Nietzscheans - who are great fun to write, even if I wouldn't wish to exist in the same universe as them for a moment - it doesn't mean that I give a crap for Nietzsche and his philosphy. And I proudly admit that I'm a Tyr groupie. Everyone who's read anything I wrote in the Andromeda universe knows that. So what?

One of my colleagues likes to declare: "When I was young, idiots didn't really bother me. That they can so get on my nerves now is a sure sign that I'm getting older." I'm beginning to see how right she is.

Fortunately, the other reviews are very positive. Just got one today that totally made my day. People actually suggest ideas and plot twist, and regardless whether I'm going to use them or not, they're a great inspiration. I wish it worked the same way in the Memory Alpha group, too.

So, wish me that the relatively nice weather would last another day, and that I can find something - or several somethings - to spend my hard-earned money on it. *waves*

Vienna sends her greetings. It was snowing repeatedly during the day, paired with bright sunshine, which sounds strange, but it was so. Just being there helps me go on with my life... such as it is.

Happy Easter to you, too! We saw rabbits (or are they hares?) on the fields next to the train treck, and also a few deers - they were all very good in sight, as it started to snow today, and it gave them an excellent background.

I bought Season 3 of Atlantis, after some hesitation, and the entire Kindred:The Embraced series (all seven episodes of it, that is), and the Director's Cut of Beowulf. I'll report what they are like during the holidays.

I think the length of their ears is one of the giveaways (but as we don't have hares here, I can't really speak from experience!).

Oh, Kindred - a friend of mine was hooked on that when it aired here, and just as she talked me into watching it, a major spoiler if you are unaware, Something Happened. So I didn't. She still mourns the end of the show, so please do report back :)
Sounds like a very fruitful trip.
Cheers!

Your friend was right. For me, Kindred is the best what has ever been done in the vampire genre. It's a shame that Mark Frankel died in that motorcycle accident and so the show was never continued, but I think without him it wouldn't work anyway. He had a kind of almost animal magnetism few could have replaced.

I first saw the show on German TV. Then I got a 50 bucks gift certificate from Amazon and ordered it on video. I bought the DVD version now, because a) it's uncut and b) because videotapes are very accident-prone. It will be a delight to watch it again, in a much better quality.

You really should give it a try.

I hope you had a lovely trip and found lots of Shiny Preciousesssss.

I'm glad you're getting some good AND useful reviews on "Web of Darkness." I've finished my class (currently awaiting my grade), so once I dig out from housecleaning and bills and whatever else piled up over the past month, Tyr and his friends and enemies are MIIIIINE (to quote my 3-year-old nephew)!

Erm... "Web of Darkness" is the LOTR/Forgotten Realms crossover, also known as "Drizzt in Mirkwood". It seems reasonably popular on FF.Net, which is surprising, but I'm glad about it.

Tyr&Co feature in "Out of Legends", a crossover between Atlantis and Andromeda. It's a story I've just finished after oh, 20 chapters or so, but if you feel up to face it, you're certainly welcome. ;))

It's posted to [livejournal.com profile] otherworlds_lib as well, for better discussion chances.
