wiseheartThat was another movie brought to me, by Hungarian TV this time, after a long wait. Well, I was not impressed. This "aliens-have-taken-over-my-hubby" is a dead horse that has been beaten to at least three separate deaths already. Plus, I found the first hour and half of the movie incredibly boring... and the outcome depressing and pointless. I wish they could stop making these loose ends in the hope that there might or might not be a sequel
Because, you see, if the alien is in the wifey now, and the twin babies within her are evil alien spawn, then world domination will follow. So, either make a frigging sequel and tie up the loose ends, or don't make loose ends to begin with!
On the other hand, the acting was decent. And it was nice to see Johnny Depp having a normal human face for a change. He actually looked almost as long as in his good olde "21 Jump Street" times. I wonder what amount of make-up or cosmetic surgery was needed to reach that effect...
German TV is going to bring "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" during Xmas time. And "Kingdom of Heaven". It seems we're gonna have more movie nights.

Date: 2007-12-21 05:45 pm (UTC)Ich hab den Film mal nachts angeschaut, als ich nicht schlafen konnte und soweit ich mich noch dran erinnern kann, muß ich Deiner Kritik zustimmen. Das mit dem "possessed by evil aliens" ist schon hundert mal gemacht worden und kreativ kriegt es irgendwie doch keiner hin. Danach hab ich sogar überlegt, eine Satire zu schreiben über ne Rasse von solchem von Leuten Besitz ergreifenden Aliens die im Geheimen die Erde regieren. Bin aber nie dazu gekommen.
Königreich der Himmel kann ich Dir empfehlen. Als mein Vater das vorletzte Mal zu Besuch war, sahen wir die Special Extended Edition oder Director's Cut oder worunter es auch immer läuft. Es ist einer der wenigen Filme dieses Typs, dessen Ende ich glaubhaft fand. Ich freu mich schon drauf, mit Dir über den Film diskutieren zu können. Ich hoffe, er wird Dir gefallen. Wenn Du ihn magst, solltest Du Dir die lange Version ausleihen, denn bei der Kinoversion (und ich nehme mal an, daß sie die bei RTL bringen werden) wurde mindestens ein Handlungsstrang weggelassen, weil man ihn für zu provokativ hielt.
Und ich mußte mich ganz schön zurückhalten, um nicht zu sagen über das, was mir gefiel oder nicht gefiel, damit ich mich nicht mit Spoilern verplappere *g*
"Charlie" will ich mir übrigens morgen auch anschauen.

Date: 2007-12-21 08:14 pm (UTC)Ich glaube, ich werde "Charlie" auf Video aufnehmen, während ich "Königreich" gucke. Das sollte eigentlich funktionieren, es sei denn, mein blöder Satellitenempfänger beschließt zu streiken. Wieder mal.
Aber ich würde mich auf jeden Fall freuen, "Königreich" mit Dir diskutieren zu können. Die Leute um mich herum (live) haben kein Interesse in sachen für die ich mich interessiere, und es fehlt mir doch sehr, meine Vorlieben mit jemandem zu besprechen.
