They didn't manage to break the record, this time. It's a first. Poor kids, I felt really sorry for them. But what they've managed to build was beautiful nonetheless. And I'm sure there'll be a Donmino Day in 2008, too.

If you thik that it's when they create wondrous images from millions of domino stones and then let the whole thing fall over in a spectacular way, then yes, it is.

They were trying to fell 4.5 million stones this year - alas, only 3.6something did actually fall. They had a lot of bad luck, poor things. After 6-8 weeks of work... Ah, well, it's just a game, but I still feel sorry for them. It brings together young people from 11 nations to work on it, so it's a good thing.

3.6 million is still a lot of dominos falling! That would have been something to see - and fun to work on, as well. Here's hoping they manage to break the record next year!
