Selecting plotcritters
May. 18th, 2003 06:49 pmI've started a new birthday fic today. Should be short, because I really don't have the time for another monster project. Elvenhome and Archet's birthday story demand a lot of attention.
This one has been triggered by one of Boromir's thoughts in The Bitter Gift of Compassion. Originally I intended to write it for Casey's birthday, since she wanted either Boromir or Haldir or Finrod. But in the meantime I learnt that Adara has her birthday in June, too, and she specifically asked for Boromir and Faramir - a condition which this story would match perfectly.
So, I might give this particular story Adara - but then I'm standing here without any idea for Casey's birthday. And Deborah's is looming on the horizon, too, and she hasn't even made a request so far.
That's the dratted thing with plotcritters. When you don't want them, they're swarming all over the place, the nasty little buggers. But should you need them desperately, they all go into hiding immediately. Ah, well...
