I've finished The Lost Warrior today - and boy, am I happy that it's done! The last two chapters still need to be typed up, but God, am I relieved

I love that story, I really do. Science-fiction is great fun to write, sometimes even more so than fantasy, because it allows a great deal of world-building. And with this story, I really let out my creative site to play... and I'm fairly happy with the results. Original BSG/original Trek x-over - what else could anyone wish for?

It's not a popular story - my personal favourites rarely are - but I enjoyed weaving all those political intrigues and personal fates together a great deal. Needless to say, the fracking thing has already spawned a new idea, but I refused to do anything about it, aside from writing down the idea itself. I'll have to finish "Web of Darkness" first, and update a few more ongoing WIPs. Not to mention this year's Advent Calendar, which always puts quite a strain on me. I swear every year not to do it again, but I'm already knee-deep in it again. I must like to suffer, apparently.

On the sci-fi fron, next update will most likely be Out of Legends, which is an Andromeda/Stargate-Atlantis x-over. And then, perhaps, a long overdue new chapter for Birthright 3, my Alternate Andromeda series. Beyond that, I can't see at the moment. The ungodly workload at school barely leaves me time to breath - it's not easy to do anything creative in stolen hours between mind-numbing lessons.

Ah, well. "Web of Darkness" and the Edhellond anniversary drabbles have brought a few nice reviews; nothing in the dimensions of what BNAs get, of course, but they've warmed my heart nonetheless. One should not get greedy, I guess.

I've also translated the first three chapters to the next installment of the Lost Years series, but those are really rough drafts still and will need to be reworked during the typing-up process.

All in all, I'm doing well, considering the circumstances. And if people don't want to read, well, it's their loss.
