I'm still not so sure that it's such a good idea - I hate the keyboard, I really do - but at least I'm back online. I'll mostly use the big PC, once I got the new monitor and the new computer case, but the Notebook will enable me to work at school as well.

Don't count on updates for a while, though, as my Office package hasn't been uploaded yet and probably won't before we go to France next Tuesday.

The heat wave is getting worse with every new day. We're still alive, though, by some miracle.

Congratulations on your new acquisition! Laptops are very handy, I find - I have an accelerate G4 PowerBook at home - but yes, they take getting used to after being on desktops. Still, it's nice to be able to go out on the back porch and read or type. I think mine will come in quite handy when I'm home on recovery!

Yeah, but where to get a back porch from?

Hmmm...maybe you can try Open Office instead of Microsoft Office? I've heard quite good reviews about the former...

And yes. Typing on a keyboard and a laptop's keypads are really different and takes some time getting used to.

*hugs* At least you'll have a backup to come online on if your PC ever crashes (touch wood).

And oh, I sent your letter off yesterday. :D

You mean snail mail? Looking forward to it, but I won't be at home for the next 2 weeks, so the reply might come a bit later.

And yep. Snail mail. And it's quite all right. Take your time.

It takes a little getting used to, but it's not so bad in the end.

It is good to hear that you can get online again. I am sure that the new monitor can´t come too soon but it will be with you.

I am sure all of us are willing to wait for updates. ((Soledad))

That heat wave doesn´t sound nice at all. Stay cool and drink a lot of water.

Notebooks are really nice once you get used to the keyboard. It's so convenient to be able to work anywhere! (Especially if you have wireless internet access with your laptop!)
