Back again

Just a short check-in as I'm soo dead... It was an.. interesting time, most of which I enjoyed and some of which I utterly hated. The rest of the Prague picspam and a long line of German picspam entries will follow as soon as I've recovered a bit.

In my absence the lovely the_wild_iris has sent me a pretty book - thanks, dearest! - and Wraithbait changed its appearance which sucks. The old one was very reader-friendly, now that they have advanced the site it kills my eyes. Another reason to avoid the archive. Ah, well, it's their loss.

All you need do to get wraithbait as it was if to change it from the default skin elegance2 to one of the old ones - which they have taken the time to do(and believe me it does take some time to reskin things to fit for a new version of the software). Your browser should remember which you left it as unless you've cleared your cookies and failing that it should definitely remember which to use when you're logged if you change it in your profile settings. The thing to change is up in the right corner and I think atlantisgate is the same skin as before just renamed.

Their upgrading might be annoying to users but the latest efiction looks very good, lots of improvements and vastly more secure than what they were using (they've gone from heavily modified v1.1 - one of the reasons they didn't upgrade sooner I believe - to a slightly? modificed efiction v3) which was highly susceptible to being hacked. At least this means the site is less likely to go down in future.

I might give it a try - although, to be honest, I rarely bother to log in since I stopped posting to the site quite some time ago.

Several other archives changed their looks the same way during the last six months or so. I do believe that it makes the site safer, but it's still killing the eyes.
