At first, I was a bit annoyed to see the sudden colour change on the menu bar - but then I recognized the haunted house and the whole Halloween stuff, and now I find it rather nice. Even if a bit too soon.

Tomorrow, we're going to the cemetery. We've wasted another summer when we could have moved my grandparents to a closer one. Mum and I could be a bit... lazy sometimes.

School's out for the next nine days, thank God - autumn break. I'm so very tired. All this stuff going on here, plus my still-not-qute-cured cold, plus my damaged little toe... I just want to curl up and sleep for a month or so. And if possible, get disgustingly rich, so that I won't have to fight with teenagers who stubbornly defend themselves from being taught anything.

I'll try to finish "The Lost Warrior" during autumn break, but I don't really hope I'll manage. We probably won't get to Vienna, either, due to work-related stress at Mum's workplace. Too bad - we were both looking forward to it.

Okay, off to sleep now. My PC has beaten me at solitary so many times it's really depressing.

Ah, relief that you've reached your autumn break! I hope you can use the time to get some rest, and get properly better.

I'm sorry you won't get to Vienna, but it sounds like you both have quite a lot on your plate at the moment. :-( Maybe you can make it there at Christmas, though, and have fun round the Weihnachtsmärkte? I hope so.

Good morning! I hope you slept well.

Well, Vienna in its pre-Christman insanity is more than I could actually bear. I've tried many times, sometimes I even enjoyed it, but at one point it has reached a level that was just too much for me.

But perhaps we'll manage to get there between Christmas and New Years Eve, during Xmas break. It's a beautiful city and only 3 hours by train from Budapest, so it's doable in one day.

Actually, sleeping is still a bit problematic because of the caughing, but thank you nevertheless. :))

Sorry to hear you didn't get as much done over summer as you'd like but life tends to be that way.

I didn't take much notice of the menu bar till you mentioned it, Halloween is not big down under, possibly because it looses it's meaning in springtime!

Yeah, possibly. It's growing on us over here, at least where the commercial part of it is considered, but without a true tradition it just doesn't have the right roots. Just like Valentine's Day.

BTW, I haven't forgotten the Brother Cadfael books I promised you - they just haven't arrived yet. If they ever will. I'm getting doubtful.

Yes, Valentine's Day is another one not much celebrated until quite recently here. I know of a lot of Australians who aren't aware of what either Halloween or Valentine's Day are.

I hope your Brother Cadfael books arrive safely soon. Thanks for not forgetting me, but you know you don't have to send them. :) Not that I wouldn't be pleased to give the extra books a good home.
