New LOTR stories

Let's deal with first things first: nothing really bad happened last night, which is a true relief. Some demonstrations, some people got arrested, but all in all, it went smoothly enough. More was already been promised for next week, so keep thinking at us.

I used the relatively calm period to post both jastaelf's birthday fic and the story I wrote for dolamrothdame (aka Isabeau) for Edhellond's 4th-year-anniversary. They are posted to the usual places: FF.Net (still the biggest readership), SoA, TFF, Gildor's Library and edhellondawards. Anyone still interested in that sort of stuff (especially Thranduil, his wife, Imrahil and Andrahar) is welcome to take a look and toss a bone to the muse. Pleasant distraction is a good thing in these days.

Well, it takes place in 3006, but I'm not entirely sure when the other ones are supposed to. But yes, I'd like it to be placed, thanks. You can link it to TFF, as there will be the most complete list of my Tolkien-related fiction, eventually. Whenever I find the time to polish and revamp some of the ancient stuff, that is.

I've amended the chronology. The other story that takes place at that date is Proof and, oddly, I think they both take place in August of that year.

I only picked August because summer is the season to hunt for deer - plus, I started writing the story during the extreme heat wave, so it was easy to describe...

:-) I often write about winter in the middle of summer, in the hope it will make me feel cool. Wishful thinking, usually.
