I've been googling around to see what international media says about our current situation. As usual, most of them seem to miss the point about what actually happened and why. No offence intended.

This link will take you to the most objective and best-researched article I could find. (For my friends: it's the same I posted to a previous entry.)

Read it and make your own conclusions.

Edit: The bound of university and college students, very wisely, decided not to go on with their planned demonstration against the college fees. Their representative said that they didn't want provocateurs turn their peaceful action into something like what happened on Monday.

There's still hope for our youth, it seems.

Thanks. It won't, though, not for a while yet, I'm afraid.

I heard thing seemed to be quieting down last night. Maybe the rioters have run out of energy?

It goes up and down - none yet so worst as in the first night, but yesterday were atrocities on other places. Buildings got damaged, shop windows broken, that sort of thing...

And as I take a look at some of my 8th term students, I can watch the stock where those people come from, still growing. :(

Let's hope good sense continues to win out!
