Bought the "Best of Jethro Tull" album yesterday, on CD. The band was recommended to me by Dagmar (of the LOTR-fandom) years ago, as a possible flute playing style for Thranduil. Well, I'm not entirely sure about that part, but I find that I like the band a great deal nevertheless.

I finished posting my ages-old (and embarrassingly cheesy) Angel/Riley story arc titled "Precious Son" to [livejournal.com profile] hiddenrealms. Some entries are still just place-holders, as the parts either aren't written yet or are way too embarassing to publish. It's amazing how bad I wrote 5-6 years ago. Not necessarily technically... I was in a sog of really sappy/cheesy Buffyverse fics at that time, and it shows. I'll rewrite those parts one day, I swear. Just don't ask me when!

"Ambitions", my Kavanagh background story seems to have moved away from its dead stop a bit. Now I can seriously hope to get the current chapter written when we get back from Transsylvania and the entire story wrapped up in a week or two. God, it's a relief to finally finish something! Not that it would have much impact, as it's a genfic with no pairing whatsoever, plus it focuses on a character that's generally hated because he dared to tell the much-adored main characters the ugly truth, but I'm content nevertheless.

Went to the bank and made some changes re: my meagre savings, so that my money wouldn't lose its value so quickly. It's not a big deal, neutrally seen, but for me, it's still an important step. We'll see if it works longer than the promised yer - or, indeed, if it lasts as long at all.

Alas, since we havent't cracked the lotto jackpot last Saturday (what's new?) school will start tomorrow.

What fun, back to work with all those lovely kiddies...I bet you wish you had another couple of months off.

Well, I had a foretaste already. My private student for the summer was here today. Oh, at least she's a nice one - quite a rarity in these days as kids go.

Quite a rarity indeed! I actually met some teenagers with manners the other day. Politely stepping out of people's ways in MacDonalds, assisting an eldery lady with her tray, and opening doors for mothers with prams. Ouite astonishing!
