Our annual St. Stephen's celebration turned into a tragedy yesterday, due to a sudden, violent storm. You can read the details and a short analysis here. Unfortunately, like everything else in these days, this, too, is already being used as a tool in the politic fight during which the right-wing opposition is trying to win at least the communal elections in spring.

I'm completely disgusted.

I am sad to hear these news, and I am also sad to hear that the politicians use the situation in order to gain attention. Looks like politicians everywhere tries to use events to further their own careers.

That's horrible. I suppose, though, with so many injuries and deaths (not to mention all the property damage) it was inevitable that the tragedy would be politicized.

This is typical of governments world wide, always everything becomes a political situation. It is especially disgusting in a tragedy in which people died.

How terrible! But somehow it doesn't surprise me that the politicians seize upon it and try make use of it. Sadly, that's the way of the world.

I'm so sorry to hear your celebration had such an sad ending. Sorry, too, to see the usual finger-pointing and political manoeuvring going on.

Yeah, it was so depressingly predictable. It happens every frigging time when something goes wrong.
