Little woes and joys of RL

The heat is unbearable. Every day we think it can't get any worse - well, it can. Too bad it can't melt excess fat out of the boy... my overweight problems would be solved within the week. *g*

I've just discovered that a free LJ account allows 6 userpics. Yay! In a great hurry did I upload my other Tolkien-related icons and the blue planet one provided by Karri. I considered switching to sponsored account but decided against it because of the flashing ads. I don't need tons of special features. I can't even make galeries or pics from the Scrapbook appear in my journal, so what sense would it make to have more features? :((

I've finished posting "Mission to Daleth IV" to otherworlds_lib and added two one-shot Atlantis stories, "Soemtimes It Takes A Man" and "The Ghosts of a Christmas Past". I'll add the first story of the Birthright series today. Hand-coding is teh Evil, I tell you!

Read a bit from Life in a Medieval Castle today. It's very interesting, although a bit of a dry reading stuff. Not a story, even.

By lying half-dead in front of the TV, I zapped through programmes and witnessed today's Tour de France etappe reaching its destination: Carcassonne of all places. Once again, I realized that I just have to see that town for real! It's incredible, simply incredible. Besides, I chose it as the model for Forlong's seat in Lossarnach, so there's a certain kind of "scientific" interest on my part, too. If it only weren't so frigging far from here! But perhaps next summer...

Anyway, it's too hot over here for anything of interest to happen. I love summer holidays, but I hate it that I can barely use all that free time, due to the extreme temperatures. *sigh*

Do go to Carcassonne! It's a must see for everyone remotely interested in the Middle Ages. I've seen it twice, and I still want to return.

Hope the heat goes away soon.

Heh! We should organize a trip together. Then we could drool all over the sights, and since you speak German, too, poor Mum wouldn't be left out of the good gossip, either. *g*

We're melting here too. I have a few days off coming up this week; I hope the temperatures cool down a bit before then so I can actually enjoy them!

True, it isn´t nice when it is too hot, the heat drains the energy to do anything. I have had some hot days also but at the moment the wheather has cooled down a bit, from hot to warm.
