Do you know what I really love in the Stories of Arda archive? That they give every author a chance, as long as they write the sort of stories they like.

Okay, they don't allow slash and adult-rated stories, which means that roughly half of my stuff can't get in. As for the rest, though... I'm not best buddies with anyone of the archivists or the star authors there, and yet if I post a story that interests the readers, they actually make the effort to give some feedback - mostly positive one. They don't just read the stuff of their own starts or friends, they give every story a chance if the summary seems interesting enough. I've got more feedback on SoA since I'm present there than on FF.Net and TFF together.

Besides, uploading stuff to SoA is idiot proof. You do all the work with your word porcessing program, copy and paste the whole thing, with italics and bold fonts and everything, hit the Add button and are done. No hand-coding, no fancy stuff. For a techno-wheenie with weak eyesight like me, that's a true blessing.

Sounds like you have a home..I haven't put any stuff there yet, I simply read that site, but I have heard many good things.

Home would be a bit exaggerated, especially since I can't post more than half of my stuff there. Plus, there doesn't seem to be much interest for stories taking place in the earlier Ages. But yes, it is a good site. And Nilmandra is a very friendly and helpful admin.

That sounds pretty cool. :) Glad they're giving you positive feedback.

Yeah, so am I. I never had such a huge following as the so-called star authors of this fandom, and since almost everyone who used to read my stuff seems to have left the fandom and can't even be bothered to answer private e-mails, I felt more than a little discouraged.

You're in good company; most of the people who post to SoA seem to really like that archive.
