Only the British
Jun. 15th, 2024 07:46 pm... can make parades like this. I've spent half the morning and early afternoon watching "Trooping the Colours". I wish I could understand spoken English better; BBC News doesn't have subtitles, and so I hardly understood one word out of twenty. :( Still, the sight was gorgeous, the royal grandchildren cute, and it was good to see the Princess of Wales again. I'm just an ignorant foreigner who has nothing to do with the British Royal Family, but I admired the late Queen very much and I like Prince William and his family, so shoot me.
Other than that, we had laundry day, I improvised a traybake from a package of ready-made puff pastry, some apricots that were too hard to eat raw and a package of quark - which, if I'm not mistaken, is some kind of soft cheese. Then I took Mum for a walk, and after that we dusted some furniture in the living room.
In other words, the same old slave labour; but the parade saved the day for me. Television can really be a blessing sometimes. (In other times it's a pain in the backside, of course.)
