... can make parades like this. I've spent half the morning and early afternoon watching "Trooping the Colours". I wish I could understand spoken English better; BBC News doesn't have subtitles, and so I hardly understood one word out of twenty. :( Still, the sight was gorgeous, the royal grandchildren cute, and it was good to see the Princess of Wales again. I'm just an ignorant foreigner who has nothing to do with the British Royal Family, but I admired the late Queen very much and I like Prince William and his family, so shoot me.

Other than that, we had laundry day, I improvised a traybake from a package of ready-made puff pastry, some apricots that were too hard to eat raw and a package of quark - which, if I'm not mistaken, is some kind of soft cheese. Then I took Mum for a walk, and after that we dusted some furniture in the living room.

In other words, the same old slave labour; but the parade saved the day for me. Television can really be a blessing sometimes. (In other times it's a pain in the backside, of course.)

I watched a couple of highlights of the day and was very pleased to see a smiling Princess Kate too. I was always worried about Charles becoming king, but he has surprised me, and I'm coming to quite like him. I think when William and Kate get their turn they will be perfect in the job too.

I still think the Princess Royal would have made a superb monarch. ;))

Why don't you get subtitles for BBC News? I get them for almost everything except old films and TV programmes
