Another long day - but for better reasons
Nov. 18th, 2023 07:56 pmWe had laundry day; that isn't the actual better part, of course, but at least it's done.
I've baked another batch of Christmas cookies: cashew-coconut balls. They are very yummy, and not too complicated to make, once everything is prepared. I'd done the preparation between midnight and 1am, which sounds insane, but it was a blessing when I simply had to kip everything into a bowl and put the dough together. I also decorated the chocolate-peanut cookies and boxed everything as soon as they were cooled.
Then I find half an hour when I did some actual writing. The muse was a tad reluctant to cooperate, but I've shown her who's boss. Now the first part of the next scene (about half a page) is written, and I even know how it will continue. That's a real blessing.
We had green peas and meatballs for lunch. So now I have another tin can I can transfer. I think I'll make a Santa-shaped pencil holder. The design will be a tad tricky on an item like that, but I think it's doable.
I played a bit solitary on Methuselah the geriatric laptop (that particular page only loads on that single device, even though it runs on Windows XP - the older among us might remember it), and then my friend Evie called and we chatted on the phone for nearly an hour.
Starting at 21.15 there will be a TV marathon: The Great Celebrity Bake-Off (2 episodes), Crack Addicts and Dr. Pimple Popper. This won't be an early night, either, but again, we have the time.
