We had laundry day; that isn't the actual better part, of course, but at least it's done.

I've baked another batch of Christmas cookies: cashew-coconut balls. They are very yummy, and not too complicated to make, once everything is prepared. I'd done the preparation between midnight and 1am, which sounds insane, but it was a blessing when I simply had to kip everything into a bowl and put the dough together. I also decorated the chocolate-peanut cookies and boxed everything as soon as they were cooled.

Then I find half an hour when I did some actual writing. The muse was a tad reluctant to cooperate, but I've shown her who's boss. Now the first part of the next scene (about half a page) is written, and I even know how it will continue. That's a real blessing.

We had green peas and meatballs for lunch. So now I have another tin can I can transfer. I think I'll make a Santa-shaped pencil holder. The design will be a tad tricky on an item like that, but I think it's doable.

I played a bit solitary on Methuselah the geriatric laptop (that particular page only loads on that single device, even though it runs on Windows XP - the older among us might remember it), and then my friend Evie called and we chatted on the phone for nearly an hour.

Starting at 21.15 there will be a TV marathon: The Great Celebrity Bake-Off (2 episodes), Crack Addicts and Dr. Pimple Popper. This won't be an early night, either, but again, we have the time.

I never recognize any of the "celebrities" they have on those.

The only ones I recognized were Richard Dreyfuss and Ben Miller — the latter because he was a member of the main cast in Primeval. There were a few who had been in "An Extra Slice", but otherwise I wouldn't have heard of them. It must be a very British selection.

I never even heard about the Richard Dreyfuss one, I would definitely recognize him. Being a big Brit comedy geek I do recognize some Brit celebrities some other Americans might not but I have other blind spots, for example I don't follow sports at all and I stopped watching Saturday Night Live many years ago.

Yeah, sports are not my thing, either. And I usually only watch science fiction, Sherlock and Miss Marple from the British things. And occasionally Poirot.

We are both night owls by our very nature; plus we've gotten used to watch TV during the night when Grandma was still alive. She watched her own programmes up to 11pm and we could only start ours after she'd gone to bed.

Ben Miller was in "Death in Paradise" as well. 😁 I can't see him as a baker, though!

That is always good news!

I miss Windows XP! And its games. I still have a netbook that runs it.

Windows XP was a really good one. I hate it when they "update" operation systems and then I can't find what I need and by the time I've figured out how they work, a new one is introduced already.

Those are all shows (and episodes) I've already seen multiple times, so it's no problem when I fall asleep in the middle of them. *g*

Glad you can do the writing :)

I've seen Ben on a couple of panel shows, he can be great fun.

That he can. Knowing him only from Primeval previously, where he plays an extremely dry character, I was surprised how funny he could be.

Yay! You had a day without shopping. I have laundry churning away in the kitchen as I type.
