Temperatures dropped considerably during the night, so we had a lovely, cool morning. I made some good progress with the songbooks: the foliage of all eight trees is now sewn on, and I added two additional rows of stitches to the oven because the felt surface seemed a bit wobbly.

After throwing together a quick lunch, we started selecting stuff for the house clearance that will take place the day after tomorrow. Once a year, the town organizes this action where they come and collect everything people want to throw out. For us, it is mostly clothes and shoes that we can't wear anymore; and they aren't in good enough shape to give to charity, either. Not to mention that there are practically no places where they would collect used clothes anymore. Red Cross used to have these containers but they demolished them, and I don't have a car to transport the stuff to the other end of the city.

By the time we were done, temperatures climbed to dizzying heights again. God, I hate hot weather. Why can't it stay a nice 23-27 degrees all the time?

Cherry stone pillows might not be an issue this year, due to the serious lack of, well, cherry stones. Those friends who collected a lot for us a couple of years ago simply don't have any cherries dis year - freezing May weather killed the poor things. Ah, well, I can always make the pillow cases... eventually... and keep them for better years, right?
