In any case, we overslept a bit, and then we did the laundry - two days later as we firmly refused to do slave labour on Christmas Eve. Even if Louise (= the washing machine) is the one who does the actual washing.

We realized that the Yule log would be too large and too rich for the two of us to consume it within reasonable time, so I cut off one third of it and took it to our neighbours. They have two teenage children; at that age they would eat everything, so I'm sure the chunk of log is already gone by now. *g*

My friend Evie came over around noon, and we had a lovely time. She's her birthday and her name-day on Christmas Eve, and since Mum and I have the same given name, it was a group name-day, with leftover cookies and nice conversation.

When Evie left, we decided not to eat the rests of the stuffed chicken and steamed red cabbage (with apples and raisins) for lunch, since it was too late for such heavy stuff. We ate some leftover Tütensuppe with cookies, and that was it.

I've also thought a bit about the last two pages of Dani's quiet book, and chose a deep sea page with a submarine and a rocket page. The submarine can be seen at 2:37 of this YouTube video, and the rocket is in the same video, at 4:14. I'll be adding sea creatures and planets, respectively, to the background, since my book will be a much larger size than the original (20cm by 20cm instead of 15x15).

So, this was my day, including a short nap before Evie arrived and playing some Solitaire on my geriatric laptop. I hope your day was a nice one, too.
