Busy, busy, busy day
Oct. 11th, 2022 08:06 pmMum and I had our Big Adventure(TM) today. For only the second time since she did the fainting act on the street on me, we went to Lidl together. Naturally, my stomach shrunk to the size of a dried lemon all the time, having that horrible sight in front of my inner eye how she was lying on the ground with those open, seemingly lifeless eyes, but I valiantly suppressed it. (Haha, yeah, my foot...)
In any case, it was a successful trip, nothing happened, and Mum was delighted. She always loved browsing the shelves, and Lidl had senior-friendly, large price tags on the things, so that she could get the feeling of the horrendous prices herself (and see that I wasn't exaggerating). Of course, we were both quite tired afterwards - walking the street at her speed is exhausting when one is used to hurry down them briskly - so we decided not to do much cooking today. Mum made prune soup, and we ate the rest of the misbegotten birthday cake. *g*
She then had a visit from the physiotherapist and I went to choir practice (after visiting Aldi and the Chinese drugstore on my way). It was also eggsies day at school, so I fetched the eggs I had ordered last week... only to realize that I'd been an idiot, only having ordered the usual amount. As a rule, I order 20 every month and have some left over at the beginning of the next month. However, I forgot that birthday parties require baking, and baking requires eggs. I'll have to really do the juggling act this month - or buy some more eggs at the supermarket, where they are even more expensive and of lesser quality. Ah, well, lessons learned and all that.
Consequently, no crafting was done today. There were no crossword puzzles solved, either, or any other intellectual activity. But tomorrow I won't even leave the house (hopefully), so I'll be able to catch up with my life.
