Back to normal
Aug. 27th, 2022 08:06 pmOkay, I'm over yesterday's mild shock and we're fine again. It wasn't such a big thing, actually, just having a visit from the talkative chiropodist lady, and Mum somehow ended up sitting in the wrong position, which caused her really bad neck and back pain afterwards, not to mention sharp pain in her various joints. Now, Mum is a very disciplined individual; I think in the almost 66 years I've known her this was the first time I heard her literally whimpering in pain. It was so bad that it also made her nauseous and caused cold shivers... a horrible thing to watch. Until I came up with the idea to give her an Aspirin against the cold shivers. That worked wonders, and within half an hour she was basically all right again. Of course, the whole experience took its toll, so she was out cold for the rest of the day, sleeping for most of the afternoon, but today she's back to her old, intrepid self, thank God.
Needless to say that I was frightened out of my mind (such as it is) by the whole experience, and as a result I still feel ridiculously tired. But I'm getting back to my only moderately dead state, too, so it's okay.
