Okay, I'm over yesterday's mild shock and we're fine again. It wasn't such a big thing, actually, just having a visit from the talkative chiropodist lady, and Mum somehow ended up sitting in the wrong position, which caused her really bad neck and back pain afterwards, not to mention sharp pain in her various joints. Now, Mum is a very disciplined individual; I think in the almost 66 years I've known her this was the first time I heard her literally whimpering in pain. It was so bad that it also made her nauseous and caused cold shivers... a horrible thing to watch. Until I came up with the idea to give her an Aspirin against the cold shivers. That worked wonders, and within half an hour she was basically all right again. Of course, the whole experience took its toll, so she was out cold for the rest of the day, sleeping for most of the afternoon, but today she's back to her old, intrepid self, thank God.

Needless to say that I was frightened out of my mind (such as it is) by the whole experience, and as a result I still feel ridiculously tired. But I'm getting back to my only moderately dead state, too, so it's okay.

Wow, sorry you had to experience such stress! I know how much we can care for our mothers and feel stressed when they aren't feeling well!

So am I. We are both prone to panicking when the other one isn't okay.

I'm glad she's OK again. Shouldn't the chiro lady have noticed she was in the wrong position and corrected that?

The chiro lady isn't really good at noticing such things.

Especially as she has such a high pain tolerance, as a rule. I'm not used to it!

There is nothing worse than watching someone you love, be in pain. I'm so pleased that the pills dealt with the problem.

So am I. Sometimes I think God inspired pharma industry to create Aspirin in a moment of all-encompassing pity.

What a scare, glad you are both alright! When I was younger, they used to call aspirin the "wonder drug". It still works wonders at time ;) Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.
