In other words, I have a slightly runny nose, a scraping throat and I'm coughing a bit. Just like at least once in every summer. And no, I seriously doubt that it would have anything to do with Covid; if it does, then I've had Covid in every summer during the last, oh, 60 or so years.

And I know exactly when I caught it. Yesterday, it was incredibly, mind-meltingly hot, and I was sweating like a horse. I know better by now than make a draught in such cases, but I still felt a waft of slightly cooler air hit my back. I don't know where it came from, but two hours later I was coughing and my throat was a bit sore. Dammit, and I so hoped I'd be able to dodge it this year. Of course, that's what I always hope, and it never happens...

Ah, well, I'm back to Aspirin in the evening (so that I can sleep) and a Neocitran hot drink in the morning, plus Vic vaporub salve and those little honey and lemon candies you can get in the pharmacy for your sore throat, and otherwise I use the decades-old method: I sit tight and wait until it's over. Annoying, yes, but hopefully just the usual crap.

Accordingly, not much got done today. I've cut out some parts for the new project and for the additional penguins, stitched a tiny bit on the new project while vegetating in front of the telly, made Topfenknödel mit Marillenroster for lunch and called several friends who all happen to have the name Ilona (Helen in English). Today is their name day, and they were all happy about my call. Sometimes I get the feeling that I'm the only one who actually can be arsed to keep contacts alive, but if it's so, I'll keep doing it.

Tomorrow I'll have to make a food run, early in the morning, because of the heat. After three days more or less indoors it will be a real challenge. I'm not as fit and determined as I used to be, say, 30 years ago. *g*

Oh, and before I forget, Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] wanderingmogwai!
I hope you are having a pleasant time!
