It's Mum's description of the current state of our flat, so I'm not taking any responsibility.

The thing is, we asked that in the process of the building insulation, they do our balcony as well. (If you have a closed balcony, you have to hand in an extra request. Which we did.) They put notes into our mailbox about the progress and what has to be done in terms of preparation work and by when.

The latest piece of info was that we had to clear out the balcony by August 9. So Mum and I (that is, practically me) spent two days with carrying the dishes from the small cupboard that we keep on the balcony into the living room.

And the stools and the big armchair.

And the small, very impractical round tea table Mum has gained in a bout of temporary insanity.

And the small book-cabinet.

And the gift bags Mum has collected during the last decade(s).

And the empty jars I usually keep there for the cases when I need to store something moth-safe.

And the artificial monstrosity that now serves as our Christmas tree.

All of these were stored rather tightly on the 1mx4m balcony, for the simple reason that there wasn't room for them anywhere else. Now they are evenly spread all over the living room, the anteroom and my study. And then the new note arrived in our mailbox, telling us that the deadline is now August 14. Meaning that we'll have to spend an extra week in this chaos unnecessarily. Joy!

Other than that, we're getting by. We have better days and worse days; lately more of the worse ones. We've been struggling with stomach problems again. I'm tending to think that [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising was right - the dratted vaccine must have trashed our stomachs. I mean, I haven't eaten anything I didn't eat previously, without any problems. I used to have a fairly strong stomach. And no, I don't think it has too much to do with getting older. Ah, well, hopefully it will right itself sooner or later. Sooner would be nice, though.
