Quiet Sunday
Aug. 16th, 2020 06:03 pmNot much happened today, really. The weather couldn't make up its mind; it was basically hot (after a very cold night), and it rained for about 30 seconds, but that was, basically, it. I'm really afraid I might catch a cold because I'm sweating like a horse and when a slightly colder breeze hits me (through the window), I'm usually done in. Which is why I get a cold much more often during summer. Under normal circumstances that would only be annoying, but I'd hate to carry my germs to the shops in these times.
I decorated some matchboxes in the morning; just applying the outer cover. Have used up the pretty, sturdy Christmas paper (dark red with gold stars of different sizes) at the 11th one. So the next ones will be different, by default. Still have to decorate the insides and glue together the individual parts, but there isn't any hurry.
I also cooked lunch today: chicken wings with lemon, garlic and parsley. The original recipe would require coriander, but we don't use such fancy stuff; besides, they say it tastes of soap, so I think we were well off with the parsley instead. Mum cooked plum soup, and we still had half the cherry cake from yesterday, so it was what Grandma would call a proper Sunday meal. ;))
Mum and I are planning to go to the nearby Auchan supermarket tomorrow. Poor thing hasn't left the house since she took that fall three weeks ago, and I'd like to take her out for some fresh air before the plague peeks again. Which will, as soon as school re-starts.
