Vodafone idiocy
Jun. 18th, 2020 03:46 pmSo, if you remember, some time ago I've modified my TV and internet contract with Vodafone and they said they'd also send us a new mediabox. We didn't really need one, but if they wanted to give us a better one for free - or so they said - I thought: why not?
Today the guy who was supposed to exchange our mediabox came, and we only now learned that it would mean that the new one would only work via internet. For that he'd need to lay another cable from the modem to the telly - we don't have a smart TV, so it is really unnecessary - plus, if for some reason the internet malfunctioned, which happens from time to time, Mum wouldn't be able to watch TV, either.
Nobody told me about that in advance. The guy said other people complained about the same, and if our mediabox works well enough, it isn't necessary to exchange it. Vodafone only does this because the old one is still from upc and they want their own stuff everywhere. Apparently, by September/October there will be a new model that will work directly from the TV cable as the old one did, without hanging on the internet. So we agreed that he'd leave the old box alone and make a report that the umpteenth customer didn't want the shiny new thing that's worse than the old model was. Perhaps in fall I'll take their newest one. We'll see.
Another epic fail of their Customer Service. Things like this didn't happen when upc still was in charge. And I got up an hour and a half earlier for this!
Other than that, I used up some dried dates and leftover green marzipan to make these:
This isn't a current photo, but I made these myself, too. The current ones don't have the coconut sprinkles but look the same otherwise. My choir mate will turn 50 next month, so I'll gift-wrap the candies for her and make a small journal to celebrate the milestone.
