A lovely family event
Feb. 15th, 2020 08:30 pmWe had Baby Emma over in our place, with Mum, Grandma and Big Brother. Her Grandma called yesterday evening, saying that at the moment everyone is in good health (something that hasn't happened since early December), and they'd like to use the rare occasion and come over. They said not to make any fuss, since it is such a short notice, but of course I don't welcome guests with empty hands. Errr... with an empty table, that is.
Here is what I baked this morning in a great hurry - Marmorguglhupf, cumin seed cookies and upside down financiers (upside down because they stuck to the dratted baking tin and I couldn't dig them out without ruining their bottoms):

They were still a great success, and we had a lovely time. Theo (Baby Emma's big brother) finally got his quiet book (the maritime one I made him for Christmas), we had lots of fun, looked at lots of baby pictures (and at the real baby that it, hard to imagine, 8 months old already), and we even called H's (Grandma's) sister in Germany via Viber. An international, long-distance family meeting if there ever was one.
