wiseheart: (coffee)
So, I took Mum to church in the morning, like every Sunday. While she was there, I went to ALDI to do half the shopping. Then I fetched Mum and we went to Savoy Park, where the closest Auchan supermarket is. We had lunch - yummy giant pancakes from Il Treno - and did the other half of the shopping. Several basic food items (like margarine and fruit yoghurt) were on sale, which means I had to carry a lot when we came home. A lot of groceries plus Mum who needs support due to her aching joints and can only walk very slowly. I was dead on my feet by the time we got home.

Once here, I continued on with baking chocolate-peanut cookies for tomorrow's sewing group. It is Advent sewing, after all, and I promised my girls that there will be Advent cookies each time. If you're interested, they look like this:

This is an older picture, but the ones I made today are almost exactly the same, only a bit rounder. Sometimes they do turn out better.

When the cookies were done, I worked a bit on my beheaded XL Christmas Elves. I intend to finish them tomorrow at the sewing group. Then I cut out pieces for the large teddies I also intend to saw for the fair, translated a page and a half (or so) of "The Sins of the Mothers" and now I'm ready to fall onto my face and asleep, soon.

I seem to remember a time in the distant past when Sundays were there to, you know, rest.
