An early birthday gift

It is an Easy Home mini sewing machine that I hope to put to good use by seaming my quiet book pages. Of course, I'll have to consult my crafty colleagues first, as the last time I used a sewing machine (an regular-sized one) was more than 30 years ago, back in the cloister, where we made lots of altar cloths with Sister Walburg. But I hope it's the same thing as with riding a bike (which I can't, unfortunately), and I'll figure out the tricks eventually.
My birthday isn't for another two weeks or so, but these cuties were on sale in the ALDI supermarket. I got up extra early today (two whole hours earlier than usual) to be there when the nearest one opened its doors, so that I would snatch me one of the little helpers. As it turned out, the supermarket opened half an hour earlier than I remembered, but there were still lots of the minis, so I got mine all right.
Now to figure out how it actually works!
