Mum prefers to go to early Mass as long as it is so very hot, so we got up at 6 o'clock - two hours earlier than we usually do.

I decided to put the time we won that way to good use, so I cut out some more quiet book base pages while she got ready. Then I went to Lidl and another grocery shop while she was in church, fetched her after Mass and typed up a couple of pages for Kansas 2 that I wrote earlier this week.

After that I printed out a few quiet book templates, which took some time because I needed to adjust the size of the motifs several times. Mum was cooking an apple and plum soup in this time, because it is usually eaten cold, so it needed time to cool down properly, even after she'd put the pot into cold water. I also used the time to wash my hair which looked terribly from all that sweating.

After lunch I had about an hour to rest before going back to school, where the official opening of the new school year was taking place. I didn't stay to the actual ceremony, which is always crowded and uncomfortable, being held in the school yard that is surrounded by concrete on three sides out of four, but it was good to meet the girls again and chat a bit.

Coming home, I watched Das Große Backen, which is the German version of the Great British Bake-off, and while doing that, I worked a bit on the next batch of the cork and felt ornaments. There won't be a third batch, but I wanted to give the square ones a try. Unfortunately, I keep getting new ideas how to make them even prettier, so the process is a rather time-consuming one.

So, that was my Sunday. I think I deserve to read some fanfic and to play solitaire games online. *g*

No writing today. There'll be writing tomorrow, I swear. I've printed out some technobabble from old TNG eps and hope to make at least some headway with the still untitled new story.
