48 days left...

... which is still way too many, if you ask me - not that anybody would do.

At least I'm done with the preparations for tomorrow's belated birthday party; and I'm accordingly dead on my feet. I've made three different cakes, cheesy buns and the spinach crepes and Mum's made salad de beouf, or French salad as it's called over here: basically vegetables cooked in chicken broth and diced, with hard-boiled eggs and sour cucumbers and generously mixes with sauce tartare.

Mum makes a terrific French salad, all guests request it when they're invited. The agreement is that I provide food and they provide the drinks since Mum and I don't drink and I haven't got a clue what everyone's choice poison is. I hope we'll have a nice little party.

Re-read some of the Dwobbit chapters today. Story really need a different title; I christened it because of the ungodly amount of idiotic crap "Hobbit" fanfic, but I don't want it to be mistaken for that sort of sh*t. I find that I still like my own story and ought to continue once I've retired. *fingers crossed*

And yes, that was today's Tolkien thread for elwenlj, just because! ;)
