Which Country should you REALLY live in?
Belgium

If you love chocolate, beer, and French fries then Belgium is the perfect place for you. The country has three official languages (French, Dutch, and German) and is centrally located in the heart of Europe, so new adventures are right around the corner!

So, I found a new way to make explosion boxes on YouTube and gave it a try in the morning:

I've made the basic box but dumbed down the whole thing to make it easier. It looks about the same as in this tutorial, all I have to do is the decoration. But that has time.

Then Mum and I went to deal with grocery shopping, paying the bills and making insurance for our upcoming holidays, all in the same shopping centre, where we also had lunch.

Coming home, I finished the translation of some Dwarf-related description scene from my original fantasy novel that I might or might not use in a reworked form for The Book of Mazarbul. It wasn't easy - my native Hungarian has a weird grammar that is very different from any other European languages (save Finnish), so it's hard work to make the stuff mean the same thing in, say, English or even German. And considering how much better I am at German, you must admit that I worked very hard indeed. *g*

Then I felt the need to relax a little, so I went to bake a Quarkkuchen with cherries. Those unfamiliar with German terms, it's the German version of cheesecake. It's still in the oven, but I really needed to go online to put up the daily post for [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo.

So yeah, a busy day. I think I'm going to read some fanfic now.

Yes, I know the way to Hell is paved with them, but sometimes we need to make a list, right? Okay, admittedly, mine isn't actually a list...

Anyway, since I'm working on The Book of Mazarbul again, I needed some inspiration for caves and Dwarf stuff and so on. Therefore I managed to dig out The Darkangel Trilogy by Meredith Ann Pierce, gifted upon me by my dear and generous friend [livejournal.com profile] lhun_dweller many, many years ago.

I only ever read the first part - in German translation, back in the late 1980s. To my everlasting shame, I have to admit that the trilogy has been gathering dust in my book cabinet ever since it arrived. Oh, I intended to read it right away. But you know how it is - there's always something more urgent to do, to read, to write... Yet now that we have summer holidays I took out all three books and decided to read them in proper order.

I wonder if I'll like it as much as I liked it in German - or even more. I'll report in. *g*
