This one is focusing on my older Tolkienfic, systematically going through my stories and listing up the reasons why they dislike it and the - imaginary - mistakes I've supposedly made.

Today I was told that the Huorns aren't trees but the tree shephers. Methings someone mistakes them for the Ents and can't be bothered to check their facts before lecturing others.

Fortunately, this is another anonymouse; the name by which they sign their "helpful" reviews isn't registered on FF.Net, at least not the same form. I've long set my anonymous reviews on "moderated", specifically for such annoying know-it-alls, but it would be better if I could block them from leaving signed reviews, too.

I don't presume to be all-knowing and unable to make mistakes. But people who dedicate their lives to find mistakes (even where there aren't any) and can't be arsed to PM the author if they have doubts/questions that should be discussed, put me off like few other things.

Look this! I made strawberry jam, for the first time in my life:

I mean, I used to make all sorts of preserves with my Grandma in my misspent youth, but I was always just the kitchen slave for the dirty work, she had the deciding vote in everything. So when she passed over, the poor thing, I refused to do anything like this for over two decades. But it's strawberry season, and everyone was talking about strawberry jam and the easiest ways to make it, and I felt inspired to give it a try again.

FYI, it doesn't just look pretty, it's absolutely delicious, too. We opened the small jar that was only one-third full to make a quality check - very important, right? - and I'm pleased with the results.

While going through the kitchen cupboard, we also found some really old jars of jam, still made by Granny (and me), but still flawless. I think I'll bake Linzertorte repeatedly in the near future to use up some of them.
