wiseheart: (Tosh_flowers)
I've picked up stitching cards again... in grand style. I've stitched 22 of them in the last two months, and am still enjoying it. When we were in Graz, I found a little shop that sold metallic threads and bought 8 different hues, although they were rather pricely. It was worth every cent, though; my new stars look amazing.

I also picked up a card-making set in Graz: with single and double cards and envelopes and passepartouts in various colours, with little, glittering adhesive hearts, with a sortiment of small decorative stones and a set of glitter pens. And I've just bought a two sorts of small glass beads last Monday in the Hobby Artist Shop. I intend to try out a few mixed techniques, too.

My fifth-term students find the technique to their liking. So, after they've done their homework, we shove the desks together to form a large table, and they all sit around it, busily stitching, even a few boys. Coordinating a dozen ten-year-olds working with needles and scissors is sometimes a little stressful, but their joy when they manage to finish a pattern is more than worth of the effort.
