wiseheart: (Merlin magic)
I finally got around to start watching the series - took me long enough since July, but, well, sometimes you just need to be in the right mindset for a particular programme. Watched the first 3 episodes in one go, and I found them - well, not bad, but not particularly good, either.

What I liked: the fact that they were slightly closer to the actual legends than BBC's "Merlin", and that they seem to have an ongoing storyline, instead of the Silly Adventure of the Week (TM).

What I didn't like was practically the rest of it. Starting with the cast. With the exception of Sir Ector aka Sean Pertwee and Sir Kay, everyone was off-putting. Even Eva Green, whom I usually like. There was much gratutious nakedness and much gratutious sex, brat!Arthur is annoying like hell, the female characters - except Vivian - are downright horrible and the male ones aren't a tad better. I hope the indeterminate magic thing will be going somewhere eventually, because right now it's just stupid.
