This and that...
Apr. 10th, 2006 05:48 pm... in no particular order.
We survived the annual cultural event on Friday. The kids were actually really good. I wasn't interested in any big productions this year, just in a small German scene, but it was funny and had success.
We went to the cemetery yesterday. Unpacked the headstone of the grandparents. The fact that is was still wrapped for the winter shows that the fucking hypocrite relatives - all of whom have cars while we are the only ones who don't - never bothered to go there. May their hands rot on the steering wheel.
I started to post "Moments of Joy" to Wraithbait. So far, no reactions. But there weren't that many on
hiddenrealms either, so it's not exactly surprising. I don't write p0rn and I don't write any ship pairings, so why should anyone care?
Easter is drawing near. This is the only time of the year when I really miss my Church. The ceremonies are really astounding. But I don't go to places where I don't feel I'd belong anymore. So it'll be Mum and me and the Easter Bunny again. I only wish the frigging feast won't make me dream about the convent again. But it always does. Ah, well, it comes only once a year, so I guess I'll survive, as always.
One more day at school, then we'll have a week of Spring Break. It would be great, but I'm afraid Mum's planning some maniacal flat-cleansing again. I'd really love when we had some time out when we could actually just, you know, rest. But I guess Mum's generation isn't built that way.
The Danube is still pretty high. I guess the rain during the weekend didn't help things. But the water is slowly receding, so we're hopeful.
I'm just so frigging tired all the time, it's not even funny.

Date: 2006-04-10 07:14 pm (UTC)As for those folks to whom you must unfortunately claim kinship: if they care enough to put in a grave and headstones, they should care enough to haul their sorry asses into their car and go take care of these things, not leave it to you (who has...oh... a demanding JOB and sore legs)and your mother (who is...oh... past retirement age and recovering from being MUGGED). Would it be too rude of me to hope that all their paprika goes flat and their egg noodles clump?
Ahhh, Easter. I know it's a tough one for you. I hope you can find a way to to keep vigil in your fashion - you've said before you miss that very much.
As to spring break, here's hoping Mum can skip the Infernal Eternal Cleaning this year. Maybe you could say something really sweet about not knowing how many more springtimes you'll have together, and so now while you're both still healthy, you should take a trip to the park/mountains/Wien/somewhere else you enjoy and celebrate the springtime. OK, she probably won't buy it, but it's worth a try, right?
You are overdue for spring break, and for vacation in general. I hope you'll get some extra sleep, a chance to do your new yoga regularly over the holiday. I'm pretty sure a little chocolate would help, too. I'll have Boromir and Tyr deliver it... [evil grin]
