I took a short peak at OBAFU - the Buffy and Angel version of OFUM (yes, the vampire thing makes me do this), and some people were sentenced to a BritSpeak course there. That made me realize that I'll never be able to write SpikeSpeak correctly. I'm challenged enough with normal schoolbook English as it is. Consequently, poor British vampire will continue to speak just like all other characters. It'll be a little OOC for him, but still better than a doomed attempt to copy a speech pattern I can't truly reproduce.

If they'd allow me to enroll a BritSpeak course at OBAFU?

Fanfic universities are lots of fun to participate in. :-) A great place to act like a silly fangirl without repercussions... Well, *real* repercussions anyway. Depends on if the person running the university is as creative/evil as Miss Cam and Elrond and the whole staff. *grins*

And I think it's okay if you can't do British slang properly. I don't think many people can. As long as you don't have him speaking distinctly American English with American slang, I don't think it's all that jarring. But I guess I'm not British so it really doesn't make much of a difference to me. As long as I can hear the character say that stuff in my head when I read.
