School and stuff...
Nov. 22nd, 2005 01:27 am... in no particular order.
So, three hours with visiting parents have been survived. Big boss is coming to visit two more hours, one on Wednesday and another one next week. Well, at least it'll be over, soon. Some unfortunate collegaues won't have their time until late December.
I'm a bit behind my schedule in putting up my stuff to the TFF archive. And I won't even start talking about the new website. Poor Kim has been so helpful and done all the actual site building, and I simply deflauted in the middle of the project. Ran out of steam... that sort of thing. Memory Alpha is still dead, too. But I don't have the energy to get upset about that right now.
A few stray readers asked me when Alternate Caretaker will be updated and when will I start the sequel to Still Not in Kansas. The honest truth is - I don't know. I haven't felt any inspiration to write science fiction for a while. Although three novel-length stories of The Lost Years series are still waiting for being translated into English. And someone wanted more Birthright 3, too. I'm stuck with one at the moment, sorry. Tyr is not speaking to me, that rascal.
At least my Tolkien muse seems to have recovered a bit. I've pushed forth Seal On My Heart good three or four chapters long. Problem is, I'm unhappy with the first part and too brain-dead to rewrite it. So, that story will have to wait for an update a little longer.
Wrote a full chapter and two half-chapters to The Shoemaker's Daughter. Not so sure about the full chapter; I think I've overdone with the details and at least half a page has to be edited out. It's like having a tooth pulled. I so do love gratuitous descriptions. They are fun! Unfortunately, nobody else seems to like them, and it won't do me any good to frighten the readers away, right?
I've been neglecting my "toothsome friends", as
gone2thedogs calls them, lately. Poor vampires. But now that Queer As Folk is on the air again, I might get inspired to write more to the Toreador Chronicles series. And maybe Salvador Garcia, my favourite Brujah Anarch starts talking to me one day again.
Ah, well, it's mostly stress and almost no fun, as usual. But I'll be damned if I let it back off.
