... was a tad hectic. At 8:15 in the morning the locksmiths called and made their offer. Mum was still sleeping, of course, so I told them I'll call them back. Mum decided to accept the offer, despite the hefty price. So, the guys will come tomorrow around 9 in the morning and - hopefully - repair the balcony door. *fingers crossed*

I made the Apfelküchle for lunch. They turned out excellent; we ate most of them for lunch and saved a few for supper.

The PT lady had asked for a switch because she wasn't in town yesterday. So she came today, two hours later than usual, but that was okay. At least we could have lunch comfortably before.

What else? I had a nice, long phone chat with my friend Evie. It turns out she loved the TEDI Kitty very much, which pleases me to no end. We watched some telly, and that was basically it.

Tonight I'll have to rearrange the living room, move some furniture out of the way and lay down large pieces of old bedlinens, so that the guys won't ruin the wall-to-wall carpet (which has, unfortunately, a light beige colour) beyond repair tomorrow.

Good luck with the locksmiths! I hope they´ll be worth the money they are charging!

Surprisingly enough, they were. They worked hard, didn't make a mess and even fixed the toilet door we hadn't been able to close for, oh, fifteen years or so.

It actually did. It cost a small fortune but that's two locks fixed — hopefully, for good.

Thanks. I hope it will. The locks are fixed; we'll have to be a bit careful with the balcony door till it gets used to the new parts, but we can do that.

Fingers crossed for the balcony door repairs. You have a lot of repair work in your future, especially after all that water damage. And then the repainting.. Those bed sheets to protect the carpeting are going to get a thorough workout in the months to come!

It will be a relief to have it all done.
We still have a gaping hole in our basement wall made by the plumber to find the source of a water leak. And we need to have some ceiling tiles in a storage room replaced from a different water leak! We just haven't gotten around to finding a repair person to do that work.

That is always the hard park: to find a honest repair person who'd do solid work. We're lucky that our janitor is not only reliable but also has contacts to various repair people.
