1) I've put away all the felt Christmas tree ornaments.
2) I removed the lolly stick ones and the folded paper stars. Now only the garlands are left.
3) I've transcribed some of the creative jam recipes into a small notebook I had selected for this very purpose.
4) We did the weekly laundry.
5) I cooked lunch - fruit soup with apples and raisins, some frozen potato croquets that I bought ready-made, filled with spinach and mozzarella and a mixed salad. Mum approved.
6) I did some minor crafting: finished the shelf for laundry room #2. Now both laundry dooms are on the same level of readiness. On to the ironing boards and the laundry baskets.
7) I'm about to type up the already written parts of the next chapter of my alternate Caretaker (ST: Voyager pilot) story.
8) I had a nice, long phone chat with H. I tried to call my friend Evie, too, but she was likely overrun with kids and grandkids as always during the weekend, so she couldn't answer the phone.

I'd say that's enough for one day. In other news, my back is still acting up; but again, it's been less than a week. Usually it needs two to four weeks to right itself. *double sigh*

Needs must. I still haven't done everything I wanted, but I hadn't slept well due to my back and as a result overslept in the morning, which turned my pre-planned schedule upside down, so...

That's a lot of work you've achieved- wish I'd be ready to do the same on my part!

You sound super-organised.
I’m trying to persuade myself to organise and put away a massive pile of clothes and bed linen that needs to be sorted, separating the items for donation from those that need to be thrown away. The pile is ENORMOUS. And has been there forever.

Hah! Sounds familiar. I've got the same problem with clothes.

Your lunch sounds very tasty. I had crumpets and indigestion.

Each time I read about you cooking fruit soup I wonder if I ever had some. Then again, it's quite common in northern countries and Hungary, but definitely not here!

Every country has its own favourites. I never saw Frittatensuppe here; I learned to love it while visiting Austria.

Fruit soup is basically the same thing as compote, just enriched with creme freche. At least that's how we do it in the family.

There isn’t an actual recipe I’m afraid. I just took four apples, peeled and cubed them, put them in a pont with lots of water, lemon juice, a cinnamon stick and some sweetener. Sugar works, too. Boiled them until soft, then mixed a tablespoon of creme freche with the boiling water, added it to the soup through a sieve and let it boil another minute or so. And that was basically it. You can add raisins or ginger or cloves or whatever you like, or thicken it with cornstarch instead of the creme freche… it is a highly adaptable thing. Can be made with your cherries or apricots or plums, too.
