Unmotivated

That's what I've been for quite some time by now. Of course, the water damage only made things worse. And the fact that I'm wasting so much time due to the total lack of motivation isn't encouraging, either. *sigh*

Today I had to cook. Just a simple potato casserole and a salad, but still. I really, really don't like to cook, unless I want to try out something new. Still, it was good; only that it was a one-day ration, which means I'll have to cook tomorrow again.

I thought I'd do a great deal of crafting today. Well... I didn't. I managed to do a tiny bit, about ten percent of what I should have, and then I gave up. As mentioned before: zero motivation. Which is unfortunate, as these poor quiet books have been in the making for a year by now, and I originally hoped they'd be done by Easter, but things don't look very promising in that area.

We watched some telly, in the middle of which my friend Evie called and we talked for about an hour. She lives in one of the outer districts and today she couldn't go to work because of all the snow. Outer districts aren't visited by the snow ploughs often enough, and her house is on top of a steep hill. She tried to leave early in the morning, but her ancient car couldn't deal with the ice, so she was sensible enough to turn back after a few metres. Good for her, bad for the colleagues who had to take over her lessons. Even though she sent them plans and exercises via the internet.

I didn't leave the house today and I'm not planning to do so tomorrow or the day after, either. We'll make do what we have in the fridge and the freezer.

Oof, yeah, with weather like that, definitely stay inside for as long as you can! Better to have a boring menu for a couple of days than fall and hurt yourself

Be kind to yourself on the low motivation, you need time to recover from the stress you had. And to recover strength for the stress still to come.

I'm trying my best. *sigh*

How are things on your end of the connection?

Dad went home yesterday, but we stiil have loads of laundry to deal with and I'm pertty dead on my feet after two weeks of hosting + work, though he helped out a lot in the household during his visit. I'm enjoying just getting to sit for a while and do nothing.

I certainly can relate. How is your Mama doing?

She's doing alright in general, but she still can't walk the stairs, so she's been trapped inside for months now, and mightily sick of it (not that she would be able to brave the streets right now anyway)

Yeah, it's better to stay inside with this kind of weather.
Thank goodness for fridges and freezers!
Be kind to yourself!

Well-stocked fridges and freezers can be life-saving. *nodnod*

Thanks. I can't bounce back as easily as I used to when I was a shiny new model.

I hope your motivation comes back soon... that weather does not sound at all helpful! Here is is hot and that's draining...

Hot weather is very unpleasant, too. At least there's heating and warm clothes against the cold.

One thing I miss about living in a city is that pavements and roads get cleared of snow more quickly. Here, only the main roads get done, and the footpaths aren't touched at all.

Very true. Footpaths are cleared all around our building, as far as it's our janitor's responsibility. But starting at the farthest corner of the building the winter wilderness takes over.

Low motivation has to be a side effect of winter blues...
