It was raining tonight. Not much, just enough to turn the fallen leaves into an unholy mess. I had to be careful when I did the grocery shopping - they were really slippery. Today was reasonably warm with 13-16 degrees; the colder weather is supposedly coming tomorrow. Joy, joy. And now it's raining again. I just hope the rain stays outside.

Aside from the grocery shopping I decorated my Kokosmakrönchen today: with white chocolate icing and little golden pearls and stars. They look really pretty. I also talked to my friends Elise and Evie on the phone, as well as to H. who had just returned from Germany last night. She'd been visiting her sister and had a grand old time with her folks, even though the train trip home turned out somewhat stressful. The train broke down at Nuremberg and they had to take another one, which ran late and she nearly missed her connection in Vienna.

Perhaps not being able to travel isn't that bad after all?

Especially travelling with Deutsche Bahn can be very stressful ...

I've heard that several times lately. It sounds so strange; I've got positive memories about the Deutsche Bahn — but those are from 40 years ago... 🤔

The Deutsche Bahn is way worse than ours, and ours is bad enough...

You haven't experienced nuthin' until you've travelled with the Hungarian State Railways!

We are still waiting for a proper spring, and summer starts in two weeks!

Haven't you heard yet? Spring and autumn had been cancelled years ago because of bad weather conditions. Only winter and summer are left.

Travel certainly comes with its share of stresses, as well as delights. It's been raining, on and off, all day here and temperatures are in the single digits again. Winter is here.

Single digits count as normal for late autumn over here. I'm not looking forward to actual winter when we'll have snow for a day or two, then it starts melting, then frost comes and all walkways turn into ice rinks. :(
