... towards the fair. I've wrapped and bagged the walnut-apricot Christmas candy and gave the chocolate-chestnut version the tinfoil inner wrapping. I couldn't bring up the energy to go through the entire craft cupboard to locate the special candy wrapping bought in Vienna a lifetime ago, but I managed to find the silky tissue paper sheets and cut them to the right size. Whether they'll actually work as candy wrapping or tear like crazy by the attempt will be seen.

I also found good use for the Raffaellos my goddaughter had gifted upon me for my birthday. You see, people generously give us these candies because they are trendy (not to mention expensive), but the problem is - neither of us actually likes them. We hate the oversweeted milk cream inside and the dry coconut flakes on the outside, and we don't like the fact that a whole almond is inside. If we get a whole box of the things, I make little snowmen of them like these because then the candies are wrapped in small cellophane bags individually.

But this time I got the 4-piece version, with unwrapped pieces. So I made little packages with satin ribbon bows and little bells on them. Lookie, lookie:

The card in the background was a Christmas greeting from the lovely [livejournal.com profile] noadvertising a couple of years ago. The gnome served as a template for these finger puppets that were a hit on last year's fair.

Not much else happened. We ate leftovers, watched some telly and were generally lazy for the rest of the day.

That's a good way to use Raffaellos! I do rather like them but there are a lot of other chocolates I like better, and I try to be good and restrict it. I think Raffaellos look a bit special so people do like to give them as gifts.

So do Ferrero Rochers and Pocket Coffees, which we absolutely love, yet people keep giving us Raffaellos. Or Mon Cheri bonbons, which we also hate. *is frustrated*

I hear you on the Raffaelos. We have a lot of candy like that here that's popular, and I hate.

I've told everyone so often that we don't like the stuff, but somehow it never registers. 🤬

Nope. Especially when they're looking for a quick gift, they just snatch whatever looks good to them.

I'd gladly hand over mine every time, if only we lived closer to each other.

I certainly hope so, since they'll also be fairly cheap, which usually helps. 🙃

The coconut isn't the worst part, although I don't like it. The milk cream inside is so abysmally sweet — and I do have a sweet tooth. Usually. But it has its limits.

The raffaellos look really good like that — although, like you, I am not a fan.
