I was a-hunting today

To three different supermarkets. Got lots of stuff for a reduced price - most importantly coffee, the price of which has skyrocketed in recent months. Still spent a lot of money; that's the trap behind reduced prices. But in the end I didn't really buy anything unnecessary, so that's okay.

Our café meeting for next Thursday is taking shape. All four invited friends have promised to come - unless some family emergency happens. Unfortunately, that's always a possibility; all four of them have multiple grandchildren, and Elise has to care for her ailing father, too. But we are trying.

Not much else happened. Two of our daytime television programmes were cancelled due to the national holiday in Germany. Why even commercial channels need to replace them with totally idiotic movies every time there's a holiday is beyond me, but it can't be helped.

Hope the cafe meeting for you and your Mum goes well on Thursday! I basically have spent my time caregiving, watching Chinese dramas, petting the cat, and fighting depression over politics. October will be much of the same, with doctor appointments sprinkled throughout - fun, fun. Actually, aside from having to drag oxygen tubing around the house, I am doing okay. Just hate being on a leash.

Yes, we try to buy as much as possible on special, and coffee most of all (the minute we start one packet we start looking for it again) because it has shot up the last couple of years... and we decided it is a necessity anyway.
